About the Artist
I was asked to do something like this, and so here we are!

Hi, especially to my new watchers! You can call me Snow or Snowy, or Mystic, or Hey You, or Bob! Well, maybe not Bob. Nice to meet you!

I'm a professional classical musician who does a lot of traveling from city to city to perform in symphonies. I can play two instruments well, a handful all right, and about 10 others really badly. If I could have my way with life, I'd record for game soundtracks. But until that job magically invents itself, Beethoven isn't bad either.

Because of the nature of my work, I'm not a consistent DA-er. I can pop up, then disappear for days, weeks, maybe even a month or two at a time. Most people don't notice, so it all works out.

I *adore* comments and all my watchers! Knowing you like something I draw is why I share it on DA to begin with.

I really really do try my best to respond to all my comments! Sometimes it's successful, and other times it's not. I'll even see a comment and go "MAN that's epic! I've got to save this and respond later!" and then somehow life gets in the way and it doesn't happen. Some of them are really important comments and I feel awful for not answering! But I'm so lucky to HAVE all the support I do, and I read every single comment you leave. So a big THANK YOU.

Same goes for notes! I will never, ever intentionally leave a note hanging. I don't get them that often! Sometimes DA has had a history of eating notes that people sent to me, but I know that sometimes I just plain forget.
I am incredibly scatterbrained when it comes to this site. If you did have something really important to say in a comment or a note, be it question or anything else, PLEASE say it again. And then say it again.
By all means, keep reminding me of things and don't worry about being a bother.
I draw lots of
wolves and
fan art, two things that seem to get a lot of flak on DA. I love wolves. They're my favorite animal, and I have the pleasure of spending time with them on occasion (the scars are worth it!). Regardless of whether or not they're over-represented on DA, they're a very awesome part of my life and will continue to be. I'm also a gamer and adore all my favorite series/characters way too much! Art for me is a fun thing, and as such I mostly just want to draw what I love and share it with those who might love it too.

I might not be the most original or creative, but I at least hope to improve as time goes on.
The space theme is also a long-time love of mine. If I can't be an astronaut, dangit, I'll imagine it instead.

FAQ
How long have you been drawing?Hmm, this is hard to say. I've always been one of the kids who doodled all over their class notes, and it was always fun, but I can't say I've been drawing "ever since I could hold a pencil". I did some traditional stuff because it interested me during school, and tried digital for the first time when I went away to college and there was no scanner. You can see those first attempts in the dungeons of my gallery.
What programs do you use for your art?I currently use a mix of
Paint Tool SAI and
Paint Shop Pro 7. I started learning SAI slightly over a year ago, but everything before that is strictly PSP7. I really wish I could use Photoshop, and I've tried on several occasions, but I still can't figure out where anything is. I don't use textures, filters, tips or tricks (I'm not bright enough to figure those out, either) - just the airbrush/watercolor brush tools and many layers.

I currently use a Wacom tablet, which one of my best friends gave me a few years ago. Before that, everything was done by mouse only.
Do you take commissions?Tricky question - the answer is
sometimes. I don't post about commissions for a few reasons, but once in awhile someone will note me with an inquiry. If the planets are aligned properly (I have the time in my schedule, the subject matter sounds awesome, no other obligations, etc etc.) I'll toss a rough price guide at the inquisitive one and we'll go from there.

I've been really lucky and have had some fantastic commissioners who end up asking for the very things I love drawing AND are patient with me!

I apologize though, I won't do points commissions until car insurance companies start accepting points.
Do you do art trades/requests?Art trades -
rarely. At this point I only really do them with my friends. I've been left without my half by people I don't know well and it doesn't please me. Requests -
not really, sorry!! But I'm always open for drawing ideas.
Can I use your art for my site/RP/blog/icon/book/desktop?One thing out of the way -
if you want it for something you're making money off of, no. That aside, I'm pretty lenient with my art usage!
If the art isn't of an original character that doesn't belong to you (you have to ask the owner of the character(s) in question), have fun! You can use Okami art as an icon, or some old crappy space wolf art on a blog. I'd really appreciate if you linked back to me or gave proper credit though, that'd be awesome.
Is (insert plush) for sale? Can I have the pattern? If it doesn't say so in the description, then no, sorry!

Depending on the complexity of the plush, though, I could make one again.) Same goes for patterns - besides, I'm still not very good at them myself.

There are plenty of free patterns on DA and the rest of the net that you can learn a ton from! Start with a simple pattern, figure out what makes them work, and you can start editing them to make your own original creations.
Sorry for +faving too much!Dude, no problem! It takes maybe five seconds to click them away. It's confusing as to why people fav my really old stuff, but I guess they're shiny.
*Question that's totally answered in the artwork description*
Can I draw Snow?Ohmygoodnessyes!

I pretty much have a heart attack whenever someone does this. You don't even have to ask permission!
I have another question...Don't be shy!

Ask away!
~Koey
I've really appreciated all your comments over the years~!
I have my crappy starter arrangements from games, but I'm definitely interested in recording some of my instruments live to mix in. It adds something! I definitely daydream of acquiring a few traditional Japanese instruments as it is, and I'd love to use them in some Okami mixes. What tracks from the game were you trying to work with?
And yeah, I'm very very rusty-ish on Trombone right now, heh. I have a couple other instruments as well... flute is the only other one I've had any type of formal training with. I have fun just messing around on a soprano recorder a lot though. (Noticing any pattern here? All C! Transposition stuff has always thrown me off.) From glancing at my page, there are two songs where I did a mixture of synthesizers and live recording of myself: The Noble Whistle, and Through the Eyes of Magus.
The Okami song I was messing around with most was Wep'Keer. I never really got more than 20 seconds or so of a semi-melody-ish thing worked out.. nothing I was happy enough with to finish.
And how come that you could be called Bob or that was sarcasm... XD
