Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine  that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam  deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.
I know this is a no-duh for 90% of people reading it but for the sake of the rest lets revise what we all should know about online phishig. And before you go all:

The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

I had to make sure that the site wasn't a scam first, but after checking it out for a while, I signed up for the cause. I feel bad about being suspicious, but at the same time, I know that scams take all shapes and forms nowadays, and even something that seems like a legitimate good cause can occasionally lead you to ruin when you let your emotions drive your actions too quickely. I'm glad this isn't one of those cases. To take advantage of a crisis for personal gain in that kind of way...God, it makes me pissed just thinking about someone pulling a stunt like that. Anywho, I'll put this in my journal now instead of wasting any more time ranting about that stuff.

I completely understand your concern, especially when something like this is copy + pasted around the 'net. It's a good thing that you thoroughly check for legitimacy! I don't usually repost things everywhere either, but this seems like a really simple way for the trust to get some extra funding, which is great. Thank you for checking into it and helping! They're appearing to get lots of help thanks to people like you and other DA artists. :hug:
