Hi everyone. :D

I'm a person who draws art just for the heck of it - I specialize in wolves because everything else I draw plain stinks - and I'm happy with that. Art is all fun and recreation or boredom relief for me... but that doesn't mean that I'm not looking for ways to improve.

That said; my latest submission "Music of the Night" [link] has gotten more +favs than anything I've ever done. o_o And that makes me so happy... I'm flattered that you like it!

But ... I am also terribly confused. I am not too skilled in pointing out the good and bad in pictures, so I really don't know what sets this picture apart from others.

Why do you like "Music of the Night"? Is it colors, mood, or just the fact it's a fanart? I'd really like to know, to satisfy my curiosity and to apply what I can to stuff I do in the future. :)

Thank you so much!

XD! I really want a cape. I do.

I have been here! Where have you been? And where is the stick-figurey goodness?? We must remedy the lack of it. *scribbles*.

nnnnngh I will work on that, then. I went home and got that sketchbook so when I find my scanner (light know how I lost it, the apartment is only so big) then I will get those in here. Somewhere, somehow.

I need to learn how to draw good backgrounds, I've decided. Yep.

Get online and say hello to me, silly!

I must work on it too. Oh, yay! Heh, I hear you about losing things. I've lost stuff in this tiny dorm room and it boggles the mind how that's even possible. This week, it's my phone charger. >_<

I do too. Let's go find a class! We can draw super-detailed backgrounds with light and shadow and texture... and then put stick figures in it.

As I type this, I do not see your name online! Gasp! *tackle*

I will paint us something. Detailed. For stick figures.

I thought I commented on the piece, but apparently I didn't... what really makes it work for me are the colors. Rose on black is always nice, but the touch of blue at the top just adds so much atmosphere. I've noticed this in lots of your work; you use just a few distinct colors, but place them and blend them to great effect.

Thank you. I'm happy you commented on the colors... the background actually used to be blue. I was going for a normal night scene... and then I thought 'blue is boring. All of my pictures have blue' and changed it. I liked it rose, so it stayed. *grin* I'm no good at using more than a few colors, actually, but hope to learn as I go along...

For me, it was... I don't know... The mood of the picture was fabulous, as was the sheer quality of the picture. The background, and the rose were the the little details that really made the picture great.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

*Grin* Thank you... It seems the mood came out as it was supposed to, so that made me happy. :)
